Samidoh remembers foster dad a year later, says life has been harder without him

The musician described the void left by his mentor and father figure, noting how much he continues to miss his guidance. Samidoh said the lessons and wisdom his foster dad shared still shape his life and career today.
He spoke about the special role Colonel Gitahi played in his life in a post on Sunday, March 7, 2026.
“It has been a year since we lost my foster dad. Not a day goes by without feeling the void he left behind,” Samidoh said.
He added that his foster dad was more than a parent figure; he was a guide and a source of strength in every part of his life.
According to Samidoh, losing Colonel Gitahi has made life more challenging.
“Life has truly been harder without him. He was my mentor, my guide, and my compass whenever I felt lost,” he said.
Samidoh explained that the advice and guidance from his foster dad helped him navigate difficult decisions and moments in both his personal life and music career.
Remembering a mentor and guide
Samidoh said Colonel Gitahi’s teachings continue to inspire him daily. He noted that the values and lessons he received remain important in his decisions and actions.

The musician added that these teachings guide not only his professional life but also how he relates to family and friends.
He reflected on how much he relied on Colonel Gitahi’s support over the years. Samidoh said that losing someone so close is a constant reminder of the importance of mentorship and guidance. He believes that the lessons he learned from his foster dad will continue to guide him through life’s challenges.
