Samidoh decides not to file a response to rape allegation petition
By Zipporah Ngwatu, March 17, 2026Celebrated Mugithi artist Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, alias Samidoh, has told the High Court that he will not respond to a petition by a Kenyan-American woman, who has sued the government for failing to take action against him over sexual assault.
Appearing before Justice Lawrence Mugambi on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, lawyer Gikenye, representing Samidoh, who is listed as the interested party in the suit, informed the court that, upon consultation with his client, they decided not to file responses.
“My lord, we had intimated that we would be filing responses, but upon consultations and conversations with my client, who is the interested party (Samidoh), we have chosen not to file any responses,” lawyer Gikenye told the court.
On October 30, 2025, Justice Mugambi directed Samidoh to file his responses to the petition and application after it emerged that he had not yet filed responses as ordered by the court.
“The interested party (Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, alias Samidoh) is granted 14 days to file a response to the petition and application; upon service, the petitioner files a rejoinder together with submissions to both the application and petition within 14 days,” Justice Mugambi directed.
The directions came after Lawyer Gikenye told the court that they had not filed the responses, as they were waiting for important documents from America that were important in the matter.
Gikenye informed the court that they had received the said documents on October 29, 2025, urging the court to grant them seven days to respond to the petition.

“There were documents, my lord, that we were expecting from the United States (US), which I received yesterday, and I request you give me seven days so that I can file my response,” lawyer Gikenye told the court.
Woman sues
A woman referred to as M.R.W. sued the Inspector General of Police (IG), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), the Attorney General (AG) and the Witness Protection Agency (WPA) for not taking action against Samindoh over sexual assault.
M.R.W. Samidoh accuses Samidoh of raping her when he visited America for his music performances in November 2021.
She states that Samidoh lured her into a short-stay house in Overland Park, Kansas, and forced himself on her against her wishes despite her persistent resistance to the said act.
“On or about November 28, 2021, while Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, alias Samidoh, was in the United States for a music performance, he lured me into his Airbnb in Overland Park, Kansas, and raped me. I repeatedly refused and resisted, but he mocked my protestations, ignored my pleas, and, without my consent whatsoever, egregiously committed the sexual offence,” part of the court papers read.
Manipulation claims
According to M.R.W., the Mugithi artist has been manipulating and threatening her between 2021 and 2023.
“In one instance, when I recounted the rape, he insulted me, terming me a ‘35-year-old professional prostitute’ among other heartrending epithets. I have preserved the said messages and recordings,” M.R.W. states.

The lady also reveals that after the incident, she filed a report with the Overland Park Police Department, Kansas, and a case was opened as Case No. 2023022021 under the classification of rape.
The lady states that she lodged a complaint on the same issue with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on June 12, 2025, but says that despite her efforts, the institution has failed to register, investigate, or advance her complaint.
In addition, she says that the DCI, listed as the second respondent in the suit, has equally failed to invoke the mutual legal assistance framework to obtain certified evidence from the United States.
