Rose Muhando halts gospel concert to pray for Gen Z preacher Pastor Tony Kapola
By Steve Ireri, February 8, 2026Renowned Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando momentarily paused a gospel concert she was headlining on Saturday, February 7, 2026, to specifically bless Pastor Tony Osborn Kapola and pray for his growth in ministry.
The moment drew cheers from the audience as she delivered a heartfelt message encouraging him to take responsibility for guiding the younger generation.
Muhando prayed for Tony Kapola, asking Jesus to bless him, protect him, and grant him a new generation under his care.
“Amen. Blessed be you, my child, and I pray that Jesus protects you and grants you a new generation,” Muhando said.
She spoke to him as a mother figure, emphasising the importance of nurturing the youth and ensuring they remain on a righteous path.
She highlighted that because he is young, he shares a language and understanding with the youth that older leaders may lack, and encouraged him to use that connection to lead them spiritually.
“These young people, if they go astray, God will hold you accountable because you speak the same language as them. You share one language with them because you are young, so we hope that through the language you speak with the youth, you will guide them so they can also reach heaven,” the singer said.
She reminded him that older leaders cannot fully oversee the spiritual journey of the youth, and urged him to step up and guide them until they experience God’s kingdom.
“We cannot entrust the affairs of young people to someone who is older and has grown distant, but you, Tony, are young and must take responsibility for caring for them until they see heaven. May God bless you greatly,” the singer said.
Dance moment
In a video shared on her TikTok page on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Muhando is seen leading hundreds of attendees in praise, urging them to keep jumping and shouting in joy for what the Lord had done.

On stage with her was a long line of choir members and dancers, who acted as a support cast and guided the audience in dancing to some of the songs she was leading.
As the praise reached its peak, Muhando revealed her natural hair styled in neat cornrows after removing the wig, a moment that drew admiration and cheers from the crowd.
She then encouraged everyone at the event to wave pieces of cloth or handkerchiefs in the air while dancing, further energising the audience.
