Rita Ora reveals how she is preparing her body for menopause years after freezing her eggs

Pop singer Rita Ora has opened up about how she is already preparing her body for menopause, revealing that she began planning for her long-term reproductive health years ago after freezing her eggs in her twenties.

Speaking during an interview with Women’s Health UK on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the 35-year-old British singer and actress explained that turning 30 prompted her to rethink her lifestyle and focus more on her physical and mental wellbeing.

Ora said she began making major changes to her routine after noticing shifts in her body and energy levels as she entered her thirties.

She explained that the transition pushed her to take a more disciplined approach to fitness and overall health, adding that she now treats her body “like an athlete” rather than focusing purely on appearance.

“I don’t want people to get confused with [my health journey] being about me being obsessed with my physical appearance, because I think sometimes that line gets very blurred. It’s all to do with how I feel,” she explained.

Alongside adopting weight training and a structured fitness routine, Ora said she has also taken time to learn about menopause and women’s hormonal health.

She noted that her interest in the topic was partly influenced by watching her mother go through breast cancer treatment, which triggered early menopause.

The experience, she said, encouraged her to educate herself about the changes women face later in life and how lifestyle choices can influence long-term health.

“I’m trying to get ahead of it and learn about it. I learned a lot from Davina [McCall] while working with her on The Masked Singer,” Ora said.

Ora also revealed that she froze her eggs twice in her twenties, first at 24 and again at 27, after receiving medical advice that it was the best time to preserve fertility.

The singer said the decision has given her peace of mind about future family plans.

She noted that many of her friends are now grappling with fertility decisions in their thirties, adding that freezing her eggs earlier was one of the best pieces of advice she had received.

“Back then, a doctor told me it was a really good time to preserve the best quality [eggs]. It was actually the best advice, because now I’m in my mid-thirties and I have a lot of friends really trying to figure it out. It will just be more of an expansion when the time comes. Davina is always like, Hurry up – you can do it!” Ora shared.

Ora is currently married to New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2022 after several years of friendship before their relationship turned romantic.
