Rena of Wadosi Family: I had never paid a bill before separation

By , March 3, 2026

Rena of the Wadosi Family has opened up about the financial and emotional shock she faced after separating from Director Ritchie, revealing that she had never paid a bill before their breakup.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Rena said the split forced her into unfamiliar territory, managing finances, handling responsibilities, and raising children while adjusting to a new reality.

Rena admitted that she got married young and transitioned straight from school into marriage, where most responsibilities were handled by her husband.

“Right from high school, I fell into his hands. I never paid a bill, and I never stayed alone. So it was the first time that I’m paying bills. It’s the first time that I’m working,” she said.

She described the experience as confusing and overwhelming, saying she did not even know where to begin when it came to basic expenses or daily decisions.

Pressure and questions

Beyond finances, Rena said, explaining the separation to their children was emotionally draining. Some of the questions the children asked left her struggling for answers.

“It is not easy,” she said, adding that the weight of starting over while parenting was heavier than she expected.

Director Ritchie also admitted the separation was challenging. He said financial strain played a role in their decision to part ways, noting that at the time, staying together would not have been healthy for either of them.

Year-long silence

The couple revealed they had been separated for over a year before making it public. According to Ritchie, pressure from fans and speculation forced them to eventually address it openly.

They said they chose transparency because they did not want to project a perfect image while privately struggling.

Despite the challenges, Rena said she believed there was still room for healing. She shared that many people formed prayer groups and encouraged her to keep praying for restoration.

“I always felt there is that room where I can leave space for God to do that miracle of restoration,” she said.
