Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has opened up about the online negativity she sometimes receives from Tanzanian social media users following her marriage to Tanzanian singer Juma Mkambala, popularly known as Juma Jux.

Speaking about her experience on the With Chude podcast, Priscilla said while Juma Jux’s family has been warm, supportive and welcoming, some Tanzanian social media users can occasionally be harsh online.

However, she noted that the negativity mostly comes from online users and not from Juma Jux’s actual family.

“My in-laws are very amazing; they are chill, but I feel like our whole families we are very chilled and good people and are very supportive of us, my husband, his mother, sister and his brother,” Priscilla said.

“But the other social media people from his country, not mine, they can be negative sometimes.”

When asked whether dealing with such criticism is difficult, Priscilla admitted that she often chooses peace over online arguments, especially because she is now living in Tanzania.

“I do not understand what they are saying, sometimes I do not know what they are saying, sometimes I do not even translate, and I just ignore it because at the end of the day am living there, so I just have to be at peace with my online in-laws, whether they like me or not, they will accept me by force,” she added.

Claims about Jux

Apart from the online negativity, the influencer also talked about Jux not having a child before marriage and the assumptions some Tanzanians made because of it.

She said people often questioned his situation simply because he had not become a father at the same time as his friends.

“In his country, they were always saying that,’ooh he cannot have a baby’, but they did not know he was very ready,” Priscilla reflected.

“Because his friends have had babies and they were, ‘Why is he different?’ Obviously, he has been in past relationships, and there were questions, but he knew when it was time.”

Married at 23

She also talked about marriage, saying that she just never imagined she would be married at 23.

“I got married at 23. When I met my husband, I did not know he was my husband. It was love at first sight,” she shared.

According to her, she had always imagined herself getting married at 25, but life took a different direction after meeting Juma Jux.

“I wanted to get married by 25, but I did not know I would be married at 23,” Priscilla said.
