Pastor Kanyari vows to pay for boxing venue if Obinna agrees to box Mosiria

Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has proposed a fresh showdown, this time involving media personality Oga Obinna and rising figure Mosiria.
Speaking on Thursday, April 9, 2026, Kanyari claimed that Mosiria is eager to step into the ring and face Obinna, urging the media personality to stop avoiding the challenge and allow the bout to happen.
He went further to pledge financial support for the match, stating that he is willing to personally cover the cost of securing a major venue to host the fight.
“Mosiria is really asking for this fight with Obinna. I would like Obinna to stop being afraid of Mosiria,” he said.
The preacher specifically pointed to the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre as a potential location, signalling his intention to elevate the proposed clash into a high-profile event.
According to him, the fight would not only settle ongoing tensions but also give fans another spectacle following the recent Vurugu bout.
“I will pay for KICC so they can fight there,” he said.
Kanyari also revisited the controversial outcome of the previous match involving Mbavu Destroyer, alleging that the results were unfair and suggesting that the fight may have been pre-arranged. He maintained that Mbavu was not genuinely defeated, adding to the growing list of voices questioning how the match was handled.
In his remarks, the preacher insisted that the momentum surrounding the Vurugu boxing challenge should continue, pushing for the Obinna versus Mosiria contest to be organised as the next major event.
“We all know Mbavu was set up and he was not truly defeated. The results were not fair because Obinna had already planned how Mbavu would lose. Now the challenge between Obinna and Mosiria should go on,” Kanyari said.
Vurugu boxing
In strong remarks directed at the event organiser, comedian and media personality Oga Obinna, Pastor Kanyari urged that no further boxing matches under Obinna’s banner should be staged.
“Oga Obinna, we don’t want those boxing matches again. We don’t want boxing matches organised by you,” Kanyari said while speaking at his church on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
He recalled his personal involvement in supporting Mbavu, revealing that he had brought the young fighter to his church for prayer and even gifted him Ksh50,000 to encourage his budding career.
The pastor expressed disbelief over how quickly Mbavu was defeated, noting that the loss occurred in the second round and involved a blow below the belt.
He described the outcome as unacceptable and questioned the fairness of the match, highlighting his deep concern for the integrity of boxing events organised under the Vurugu brand.
“You are a one-term person. I remember I brought Mbavu Destroyer here in this church and even prayed for him. And I gave him Ksh 50,000 after praying for him. And now you tell me he was defeated in the second round, not even the third… he was hit in the private parts and lost, no,” he said.
