Ndugu zetu: Priscilla Wa Imani travels to Eastleigh, comforts locals after fire razes popular mall
By Steve Ireri, March 3, 2026TikToker Priscilla Wa Imani has travelled to Eastleigh in Nairobi to comfort victims and residents following a devastating fire that razed a popular commercial building.
Speaking from the scene on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Priscilla expressed sympathy with those affected, noting that she had come to understand what had happened and stand with the victims during the difficult moment.
“My name is Priscilla Wa Imani, and I want to understand what has happened here. As Priscilla Wa Imani, I want to say I am very sorry,” she said.
She introduced herself and conveyed her condolences, saying she was sorry for what had happened and praying that God would help those affected.
She expressed hope that since no lives had been lost, the situation would stabilise and those impacted would find the strength to recover.
“To our brothers and sisters, I have heard what has happened, and I am so sorry for you. May God help you all. If no one has died, then God will handle the rest. We remain hopeful and wish you well,” she added.

A local resident who spoke to her explained that the fire had initially started in a single shop before rapidly spreading to neighbouring businesses within the building.
The resident noted that the flames had extended to other sections, including a hotel located inside the premises, making the situation more difficult to control.
According to the eyewitness, efforts to contain the blaze had proved challenging, even as firefighters responded to the scene. The fire continued spreading at the time, though there were no reported fatalities.
“It started as a fire in one shop, but it has now spread to others. There is also a hotel inside, and the fire has reached there as well,” the local told Priscilla.
However, the resident confirmed that some individuals had sustained injuries during the incident.
“At the moment, people are unable to contain it, although firefighters have arrived. The fire is still spreading. Thankfully, there are no casualties, but some people have sustained injuries,” the local added.

Videos shared widely on social media showed desperate rescue efforts, with some people being lowered from upper floors using ropes as emergency responders worked to evacuate those trapped inside.
Crowds gathered outside the building, watching anxiously as the rescue operation unfolded, while firefighters battled the flames to prevent further spread.
Authorities are yet to establish the cause of the fire, with investigations currently underway.
