Mzungu Fresh calls out Kenyan men after viral videos leaked by Russian man

By , February 26, 2026

Digital content creator Matheus, famously known as Mzungu Fresh, has criticised Kenyan men for their reactions to viral videos leaked by a Russian man, urging the public to focus on the crime rather than the women involved.

Speaking during a candid conversation on the Iko Nini podcast, Mzungu Fresh said that many Kenyan men were quick to judge the women in the videos and comment on their behaviour.

However, he stressed that the focus should be on the foreign man who committed the crime.

“Guys in Kenya were focusing on how these women are easy, starting to comment on the behaviour, but I was, how is it possible the behaviour of a guy from a different country coming here he is doing really bad things, because maybe he was in a foreign disguise, or maybe he paid them money, and that was the decision from the girls,'” Mzungu Fresh said.

Consequences of the videos

He noted that the man recorded the videos and sold them on Telegram, warning that such actions constitute a serious crime.

Mzungu also highlighted the potential consequences of publicising the videos online.

“He recorded that, and he was properly selling that in telegram to people of his country and this is a very big crime. I was guys you are focusing on the girls,” he added.

“All these videos were viral, do you know the consequences for your country? The consequence is you are making this situation viral; there is no one Russian guy, they are many psychopathic guys all over the world and they can see these videos, and they will be ‘woow that is Kenya,I can go there and make videos like the Russian guy and no one can say nothing bad about me, they will be focusing about the girls’.”

In addition, Mzungu Fresh said that Kenyan men should have prioritised condemning the crime and protecting women.

“I think they need to focus first on the foreigner and crime and show people from all over the world you cannot do it you are banned, you cannot come to our country and make this crime. That is the first thing second thing is about the Kenyan ladies,” Mzungu Fresh pointed out.

Government action

The Government of Kenya has condemned the unauthorised recording and circulation of intimate images involving Kenyan women by a Russian national, describing the act as a serious violation of personal dignity, privacy, and national values.

In a press statement released on Monday, February 16, 2026, the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services Cabinet Secretary Hanna Wendot Cheptumo decried the actions, saying they represent a form of technology‑facilitated gender‑based violence and exploitation that threatens Kenya’s social fabric.

“The Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services strongly condemns the disturbing incident in which a foreign national is alleged to have secretly recorded and circulated intimate images of Kenyan women without their consent,” the statement added.

“We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. Relevant authorities have been tasked to investigate, and we will work with international partners given the cross-border nature of the case,” she said.

The ministry further warned the public against sharing and distributing the viral videos, noting that continued circulation could attract criminal liability.

“Sharing these videos is not harmless it compounds the harm to the victims and is punishable under the law,” CS Cheptumo stated.
