Yemi Alade set to release new album featuring Kenyan stars Bien, Sofiya Nzau, and Njerae
By Katemarthason Okudo, September 9, 2026Nigerian Afropop singer Yemi Alade is set to release her seventh studio album, #itsYemiAlade, on September 11, 2026. The 16-track project brings together several African artistes, including Kenyan singers Bien, Sofiya Nzau and Njerae.
Alade announced the upcoming album in a post shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, September 9, 2026, where she also revealed that the album title was inspired by suggestions from her fans.
“The Album 👑 OUT SEPTEMBER 11TH. I remember when you all made album title suggestions and ‘It’s Yemi Alade’ had the highest votes, and now THE ALBUM is about to be yours,” Alade said.
Kenyan artistes feature on the album
The new project features a line-up of artistes from across Africa, continuing Alade’s approach of bringing different sounds and artistes together. Kenyan singer Bien features on the song Don’t Be Shy, while Sofiya Nzau and Njerae join Alade on Earth Song.
The album also features Nigerian artistes Don Jazzy, Spyro, Teni, Fave and Jeriq, as well as Singuila and Congolese rhumba star Ferre Gola. The Kenyan collaborations add to the cross-border sound that has become part of Alade’s music over the years.
Bien collaboration already released
Alade’s collaboration with Bien is already available, with Don’t Be Shy released on June 19. The song has also received attention on streaming platforms, with its official music video surpassing 4.8 million views on YouTube.
It has also recorded about 426,000 streams on Spotify and more than 178,000 plays on Audiomack. Combined, the figures give the song more than 5.4 million plays and views across the three platforms.
Alade’s seventh studio album
#itsYemiAlade follows a series of studio albums that have shaped Alade’s career since the release of King of Queens in 2014. She later released Mama Africa in 2016, Black Magic in 2017, Woman of Steel in 2019, Empress in 2020 and Rebel Queen in 2024.
The new album continues the singer’s pan-African approach, bringing together artistes from different countries and musical backgrounds. With the inclusion of Bien, Sofiya Nzau and Njerae, the project also marks another connection between Nigeria and Kenya’s growing music scenes.
