Murugi Munyi warns women that even broke men can treat them badly
Content creator Murugi Munyi has warned women that dating broke men does not guarantee better treatment, stressing that wealth does not determine respect in a relationship.
“Some babes are always fighting for their right to date broke men, and you know wha babe—imagine you can. It’s literally your life, you can date whoever,” she said.

She added, “But remember, even broke men can treat you badly, just like the rich ones. Even tho poorest men have audacity by the way.”
Murugi Munyi emphasised that women should be aware of the challenges that can come from any partner, regardless of financial status. Her comments highlight the importance of personal choice while staying mindful of the potential for mistreatment.
This comes after Murugi spoke about her perspective on money and success in Nairobi. She said being broke is often a mindset, and that opportunities to earn exist for those willing to look for them.
“I have been in the streets. That is why sometimes when somebody is broke in Nairobi, I am like, is it that you don’t want money? Like, you can literally find money anywhere,” she said.
Turning small opportunities into success
The content creator shared her own experience of finding opportunities in the streets and turning small investments into profits.
“At some point, I went back to sewing. I would buy a denim jacket in Gikosh for 30 bob, wash it, add a bit of anka, and sell it for Ksh1500 or Ksh2000,” Murugi said on Tuesday, February 3, during a podcast.
She explained that these experiences shaped her mindset and approach to money, teaching her how to turn small amounts into significant income.
Murugi said her approach to wealth comes from a love for money and a desire to live well. She stressed that success often depends on mindset and willingness to work hard.
“That is why sometimes when somebody is broke in Nairobi, I am like, is it that you don’t want money? Like, you can literally find money anywhere,” she added, emphasising the role of determination and focus.
