Muhoozi stands by pro-Israel remarks, cites Biblical justification
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), has fiercely defended his statements on helping Israel in its ongoing war against Iran in a viral social media rant.
Muhoozi turned to the bible and invoked Jesus’ name as sufficient grounds for Uganda to defend Israel, escalating his social media tirade and taking a religious angle.
“We stand with Israel because we are Christians. Saved by the Holy Son of God…Jesus Christ is the only one who can forgive sins. The Bible says ‘Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword.’ (Deuteronomy 33:29),” He stated.

Honouring Israel with statue
The son of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni added that Israel has been a long-standing ally of Uganda, claiming that the partnership dates back to the 1980s and 1990s.
“Israel stood with us when we were nobodies in the 1980s and 1990s. Why wouldn’t we defend her now that our GDP is $100 billion? One of the largest in Africa,” he stated.
He took it a step further and announced that a statue would be unveiled at Entebbe International Airport in honour of Israel.

Muhoozi caused a buzz on social media with a viral rant that started on Thursday morning.
Uganda ready to retaliate
He declared that his country is ready to assist Israel in the war and is ready for any consequences, including Iran hitting back with missile attacks.
“If Israel needs help, it only needs to ask. Their Ugandan brothers are ready to assist,” he wrote on X on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
According to him, Uganda is up to the challenge and should Tehran hit Uganda with missiles, then the East African nation will use its own missiles to retaliate.
“If Tehran dares to hit us with missiles. We shall retaliate with our own missiles,” he added.

The conflict that has dragged on for nearly a month has claimed several casualties on both sides, including senior leaders of the regime in Iran.
