‘Msanii muoga’ – Bahati hits back at Khaligraph Jones over song release advice

Award-winning musician and songwriter Kevin Bahati Kioko has taken a playful swipe at Kenyan rapper Brian Robert Ouko, widely known as Khaligraph Jones, following advice he gave about holding back a song release.
Taking to his official Instagram account on Friday, February 20, 2026, Bahati declined the advice of postponing the song release and instead branded Khaligraph as a scared artiste.
Bahati further expressed surprise at Khaligraph’s cautious approach, jokingly questioning if there would ever be a beef in the music industry that will break the internet like his previous drama with Willy Paul.
“Sikujua @khaligraph_jones ni Msani Hivyo, Kwani Kuna Beef Ishaikua Mwecheche Kama Ya Bahati na Willy Pozze??? Kumbe Ndio Maana Wasanii Hawatoi Mangoma Wanaopa Kuoshwaa,” Bahati said.

Khaligraph Jones’s advice
The self-proclaimed OG advised the former gospel singer to postpone his new song release until next week, amid the ongoing beef between Buruklyn Boys and Toxic Lyrikali.
According to Khaligraph, if he releases the song in the midst of the chaos in the music industry, the song will not have much traction since people are currently invested in following the beef.
“Sai watu wanafuatilia beef brathe, hii utaskia pekee yako na watu wa ofisi apo EMB, ngoja next week,” Khaligraph advised.

Bahati’s new song
This comes after the EMB founder refuted claims that the DNA test he recently took with a woman claiming to be his biological mother was staged for clout chasing for his new song.
Speaking about the criticism in a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Bahati confirmed that the DNA results would be ready in 14 days and urged the public to wait for the official outcome before reaching any conclusions.
“New Song inaitwa #MATAMU na haihusu DNA wala Mama so Tulieni,” he said.
“I do not want the jokes from people saying that this whole thing is clout chasing or that it was planned for show. In fact, some of you are the reason I ignored the woman’s claims back in December. When I kept quiet, people said I was looking down on a woman who could possibly be my mother.”
The singer also revealed that the controversy disrupted his music plans.
“Because of everything that has been happening, I was even afraid of going back to my music career. I was supposed to release a song in December 2025, but I delayed it,” he said.
“I am always trending, and Kenya is always talking about Bahati. It is a blessing because I trend even when I am not actively doing anything.”
