From review: Inside the mystery town where no one leaves alive
By Katemarthason Okudo, June 15, 2026The series ‘From’ follows a group of people trapped in a strange town in the middle of nowhere. Every person who enters the town cannot leave. No matter which road they take, they always return to the same place. The town is controlled by Sheriff Boyd Stevens, who tries to keep order among the survivors while also searching for answers about why they are trapped.
Life under strict control
At first, newcomers arrive thinking it is just a wrong turn or a temporary stop. But they quickly learn that leaving is not possible. The town is surrounded by dense forest and broken roads that loop endlessly. Inside, a group of long-term survivors has created strict rules just to stay alive. The most important rule is simple but terrifying: no one must stay outside after sunset.
Inside the town, life is divided between different groups of survivors. One main group lives under Boyd Stevens’ protection, while another community stays in a large house known as Colony House, led by Donna Raines. Both groups struggle to survive but often disagree on how life should be managed.
New arrivals like Jim Matthews, his wife Tabitha Matthews, and their children Julie Matthews and Ethan Matthews bring fresh tension into the town. Jim tries to understand the science behind their situation, while Tabitha becomes emotionally affected by strange visions connected to the town.

Danger after sunset
When night falls, the town becomes dangerous. Strange human-like creatures appear from the forest. They are calm, polite, and even friendly at first glance, but they are deadly. Anyone caught outside is attacked without warning. Because of this, residents must lock themselves indoors and rely on protective charms placed around homes to keep the creatures out.
Anyone who breaks the rule risks death. Because of this, people rely on protective symbols and talismans placed in their homes to keep the creatures away until morning.
As life continues, strange events begin to affect the residents. Jade Herrera, a newcomer, becomes obsessed with solving the mystery behind the town. He starts noticing symbols and patterns that seem connected to something larger, controlling the town.
At the same time, Sara Myers begins hearing voices that tell her to harm others, creating fear and confusion among the survivors. Her situation shows how the town affects people’s minds as well as their bodies.
In the town clinic, Kristi Miller works as the medical caretaker, trying to treat injuries and manage the emotional stress of survivors. She also struggles with her personal relationships while trying to maintain hope in a hopeless situation.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Boyd Stevens continues to lead the town, but even he begins to face situations he cannot fully control or explain.
Secrets of the past
One of the most mysterious figures is Victor Kavanaugh, a man who has lived in the town since childhood. He holds deep knowledge about the forest, the creatures, and past events that no one fully understands. However, his memories are fragmented and often unclear.
The series shows how each character reacts differently to fear and uncertainty. Some hold on to rules, others break them, and many search for escape routes that may not exist. The forest surrounding the town seems to react to their actions, making survival even more difficult.
The storytelling also focuses on survival and human behaviour under pressure. People are forced to make difficult decisions about leadership, trust, and sacrifice. Some cling to hope of escape, while others begin to accept the town as their permanent home, even if it means living under strict and frightening conditions.
From is a story about survival in a place where rules are unclear and escape is impossible. It focuses on how people behave when trapped, how fear changes relationships, and how hope continues even when answers are far away.
