Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has asked for help after a homeless man he offered to help went missing.

In a statement across his social media platforms on Thursday, February 26, 2026, Mosiria appealed for help in tracing the man whom he came across at Uhuru Park, stranded, homeless and jobless at Uhuru Park earlier this week.

During their meeting on Monday, Mosiria provided fare for the man to head back to the village as per his request.

“MISSING PERSON – HELP US TRACE HIM! I had earlier highlighted the story of this man and even gave him transport back home after he requested assistance. He was stranded at Uhuru Park and had been looking for a chef’s job without success,” he stated.

Man goes missing

According to the county government official, the man did not head home as promised.

“However, he did not return home as planned,” he added.

Mosiria revealed that he is looking for him after several people responded, offering employment opportunities for the man who said that he is a chef by training.

“I am now looking for him because there are more than 10 job opportunities available for him. If anyone has seen him or knows his whereabouts, please bring him to City Hall Annex – Customer Care, or contact me,” Mosiria stated, adding contacts through which anyone who sees the man can reach out.

He urged people to share information widely so that he can be traced in time to benefit from the opportunities.

First meeting at Uhuru Park

Mosiria first met the man on Monday, February 23, 2026, and shared his plight, appealing to well-wishers to step in and give the man a lifeline.

Today at Uhuru Park, I met this man sitting all by himself, deep in thought. I approached him, and we talked. He shared that life has really been tough; he has been searching for a job for a long time without success. Two months ago, his house was locked, and since then, he has been sleeping on the streets,” he stated.

“All he asked for was transport money to go back home to the village, where he at least has a place to stay and regroup. I listened and supported him with the fare so he can go home, plan afresh, and hopefully return to Nairobi or anywhere once an opportunity opens up.

“He is a chef and ready to work. If anyone can offer him a job or support, please reach out to me since his phone was stolen. Sometimes a small act of kindness can help someone restart life. Let’s continue looking out for each other,” Mosiria added.
