Who discovered his talent?
Speaking during a past interview with a local radio station, Lafayette disclosed that he first discovered his love for music through his mother, who directs a church choir.
According to him, she encouraged his talent from a young age, letting him participate in choir sessions and demonstrations, which laid the foundation for his musical journey.
“Mapenzi yangu ya mziki ilianza nikiwa na umri mchanga sana. Nakumbuka mama yangu mzazi alikuwa instructor; alikuwa anafundisha mziki pale kanisani. Aligundua talanta yangu ya mziki,” he revelled.
“Akaenda kuonyesha washirika ambao alikuwa anawafundisha mziki pale kanisani, alikuwa ananibeba to give demonstrations, so hapo nikaendelea kupenda mziki…I think it’s because of the complexion na Sudan pia ni nyumbani…mimi ni mwanahistoria kwa hiyo najua historia yangu vizuri.”
