TikToker MC Chris Kirubi Junior has made fresh pledges to the Wantam movement led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as he hosted him on his TikTok live, which attracted over 80,000 Kenyans.

During the live session on Thursday, March 26, 2026, MC Chris highlighted the concerns of Gen Z and young Kenyans, noting that President William Ruto had co-opted the “Tuko Kadi” slogan.

‘We have a confirmation that, as Gen Z and as youths in this beautiful land of Kenya, all of us are ‘Tuko Kadi.’ But one of us is on a red card, and Gachagua can confirm that it is Ruto. He has even taken away the Gen Z ‘Tuko Kadi’ slogan,” MC Chris said.

On his part, Gachagua explained that his role was to expose those misusing youth slogans, amplifying the voice of young people and ensuring their message reached the intended leaders.

He also pledged to keep seeking opportunities to communicate youth priorities directly to politicians.

“I said he is on a red card because Ruto is a thief in many ways. He has even stolen the Gen Z ‘Tuko Kadi’ slogan, and my job now is to expose him, nothing more. When Gen Z friends informed me that Ruto was stealing their slogan, they asked me to intervene. They wanted me to tell Ruto that he is not ‘Tuko Kadi,’ as many claim, but that he is on a red card. Those words were not mine; they were the words of Gen Z. Whatever the youths want to communicate to Ruto, they should tell me, and I will look for opportunities to deliver it,” Gachagua said.

As more Kenyans tuned in to the live session, MC Chris posed another question to Gachagua, asking whether he would provide equal opportunities to educated Gen Zers aspiring for elective positions.

In response, former Gachagua reaffirmed his commitment to young people and their political participation.

He stated that his leadership is guided by youth, and he welcomed their involvement, expressing that he feels energised and rejuvenated by their presence.

“To avoid any doubt, my leadership is shaped by and for young people. I want to be surrounded by them, and I feel energised and younger having met the youth today,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua assured that the DCP party is a home for young leaders, and he personally pledged support for youths who wish to contest various political positions, emphasising that he would campaign for them and create opportunities for their active participation.

“I want to assure them that the DCP is their home, and I will personally support them and even campaign for them. I encourage young people to come forward and contest for various positions,” he added.

MC Chris further engaged viewers by prompting them to show support for Gachagua through the live stream, signalling broad youth approval of the former deputy president’s commitment.
