Mama Gift hits back after netizen slams her for seeking treatment donations for her son
By Steve Ireri, December 5, 2025Embu-based TikToker Mama Gift Gathoge has asked God to stand with her after a netizen berated her for frequently asking people to donate to support her son’s treatment.
In a post shared on TikTok on Friday, December 5, 2025, Mama Gift asked God to perform a healing miracle on her child, explaining that the criticism she was receiving for trying to help him had become too much to bear.
She prayed for strength and protection, asking that those who mocked her face consequences similar to those of those who mocked the biblical Hannah.
“God, I ask for just one miracle: heal my son for the glory of Your name. Let those who mock me face the consequences, as in the stories of Peninah and Hanna. We are in and out of hospitals almost every day. Please, God, help me. If you are healthy and have healthy children, always thank God and never mock anyone who is struggling,” Mama Gift wrote.
The criticism came from a TikToker who accused her of repeatedly disturbing people online by requesting donations.
The critic using the username @lucykirika questioned why she continued to appeal for help, suggesting that her repeated posts were burdensome to users.
“How many millions do you want before you stop disturbing people? Why do you keep asking for donations all the time?”

Gift’s ailment
Baby Gift suffers from severe cerebral palsy, a condition that affects his movement, muscle control, and neurological development.
He depends on tube feeding and requires constant monitoring. In addition, he contends with asthma, cardiovascular complications, gastrointestinal issues, and recurrent convulsions.
These overlapping conditions mean frequent hospital visits and place a significant emotional and financial burden on his mother, prompting her ongoing appeals for donations to cover medical expenses, including specialised treatment that had previously been planned in India.
Emergency treatment
The development came just hours after Mama Gift issued an update that she had rushed her son to AIC Kijabe Hospital for emergency treatment.
In a message shared on TikTok on Thursday, December 4, 2025, Mama Gift explained that her child had fallen ill all of a sudden.
She conveyed that she was praying earnestly as they travelled and placing all her hope in divine intervention.
“Good morning, everyone. We are currently on our way to AIC Kijabe Hospital because Baby Gift is not feeling well. I know that God will stretch His mighty hand of healing upon him. I am praying as we go,” Mama Gift wrote.
At the same time, she shared a video of herself humming along to Kikuyu gospel singer Loise Kim’s hit song ‘Ngai Ndagituruta’, raising her hands in a gesture of faith and prayer as she sought strength during this difficult time.
