Lydia Wanjiru says her Kikuyu body structure necessitated cosmetic surgery

She said on Friday, January 23, 2026, that the transformation was necessary due to her natural body structure.
“I didn’t take a shortcut, I took care of myself,” she said.
Lydia explained that her original Kikuyu appearance made it impossible to achieve the results she wanted without surgery.
She said certain areas of her body could not respond to diet and gym alone.
“That lower tummy that gym and diet can’t fix? My doctors removed almost 2kgs of it,” she explained. Lydia added that the procedure, known as a tummy tuck, removed excess loose skin that had formed after significant weight loss.
Total body recomposition
Lydia said her makeover included liposuction 360 and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), which, together with the tummy tuck, completed her total body recomposition. She explained that not everyone needs all three procedures.
“Some need two or even just one,” she said, noting that each body is different and requires a personalised approach. She said that the surgeries were not shortcuts but steps to care for her body and health.
Lydia said she approached the makeover carefully and followed all medical advice.
“With my original Kikuyu appearance, there was no other way out,” she said.
She explained that the surgeries allowed her to reshape her body safely and achieve the confidence she wanted. Lydia added that the process involved careful planning and a clear understanding of the outcomes she desired.
Earlier, she shared details about the cost of the cosmetic procedures. Lydia explained that the surgeries alone cost between Ksh1 million and Ksh1.2 million.
“The full amount rises to about Ksh1.8 million when pre-operation and post-operation care are included,” she said.
She said that the investment covered medical checks, recovery, and aftercare, which are essential for safe results.
Lydia said the makeover has been life-changing, and she hopes sharing her journey will help others understand that body transformations require patience, medical guidance, and self-care.
