Kwambox’s family appeals for help after death of her younger brother

The family of media personality Sheila Kwamboka, popularly known as Kwambox, has appealed for support following the death of her younger brother, Sydney Ray Ashioya.
Kwambox announced the heartbreaking news on Monday, March 9, 2026, with the family releasing a statement requesting financial support afterwards.
According to the statement, the funds raised will help the grieving family give the deceased a befitting sendoff.
“Our beloved brother, son, and family member has gone to rest. As we prepare to give him a beautiful farewell, we humbly ask friends, family, and well-wishers for support through financial contributions toward his funeral arrangements,” read the statement.
It also provided details through which well-wishers may send their contributions.
Kwambox eulogises younger brother
Kwambox mourned her late brother in an emotional post on Facebook on Monday, March 9, 2026, narrating how news that his health had deteriorated brought her life to a standstill a week earlier.
The media personality noted that a few days later, things had moved from bad to worse as she found herself arranging for her brother’s funeral.
“Last week, on Wednesday, my life came to a standstill. I was called as you were dying! I am on my way to arrange your funeral, and it feels surreal! I’m beyond shattered,” she stated.
Kwambox expressed deep shock and disbelief at the loss, stating that she still could not come to terms with the fact that Ray was no longer alive, as she shared the depth of her pain.
She added that she has never experienced pain that comes close to what she experienced following Ray’s untimely demise.
“I have never experienced this kind of pain,” she added.
Condolence messages and burial arrangements
She went on to wish her younger sibling eternal rest, noting that she would greatly miss him.
“I’m going to miss you, my love. #RiPRay My Sweet Baby Brother #Autism,” she mourned.
Following the social media update, an outpouring of condolence messages streamed in from fans, fellow celebrities, friends, and well-wishers who expressed their sympathy, shared comforting words, and offered prayers and support to the grieving family.
The family has commenced plans to give Ray a befitting sendoff, with more updates, including the date of his burial, set to be communicated in subsequent updates.
