Kartelo announces exit from Zabe comedy show co-hosted by Oga Obinna
Content creator and comedian Nick Chege, famously known as Kartelo, has announced his exit from the popular Zabe comedy show, which he co-hosted alongside media personality Oga Obinna.
In a statement on Friday, January 16, 2026, Kartelo confirmed he is stepping away from the show, expressing gratitude to both the audience and the team behind its success.
“I’m stepping away from Zabe. To the fans who supported the show and the incredible team that made it possible, I’m truly grateful,” he said.

Kartelo did not disclose the reasons behind his departure but hinted at new opportunities ahead.
“Looking forward to the next chapter,” he added.

Months after comeback
This comes a few years after Kartelo made an online comeback months after going missing, days after online users raised worries over his whereabouts.
The worries prompted comedian Mulumwa to look for him and conduct a short interview, which he shared on his Instagram page.
” Niko hapa Kayole na baba T. ‘Mbogi bado kimonyoski 1960’, ” Mulumwa wrote.
In the video, Kartelo denied claims that he is dealing with drug addiction, noting, “There is no addiction. I’m okay.”
He also says he has been busy with his other aspects of life, as well as his family.

However, the fast-rising comedian refused to give details about his radio station-‘Rieng Radio’
Kartelo came into the limelight over his prowess in speaking the ‘sheng’ language in his short comedy skits.
