Pastor Victor Kanyari has broken his silence after days of intense online scrutiny and speculation following the death of his ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo.

Through his Facebook account, Kanyari has appeared deeply emotional after days of intense rumours surrounding the death of his ex and late wife, Betty Bayo.

He has, however, made it clear that he will not be dragged into online battles.

To critics, Kanyari has delivered a calm but firm message. This is their moment to talk, speculate and trend because he has chosen a different path.

In a lengthy and reflective post, Kanyari has said he has watched the internet judge, assume and rewrite stories about his life and pain.

He has noted that some claims have been true, many false, and others crafted purely to provoke reaction. Still, he has insisted that his words are not meant for defence, but for clarity and peace.

“I am a father before I am anything else,” Kanyari has posted on Facebook, grounding his message in responsibility rather than controversy.

He has reminded the public that Sky and Danny have lost their mother, a loss that no headline or comment section can ever outweigh.

According to him, his focus has been guiding his children through grief they never asked for.

Kanyari to focus on his kids

Kanyari has also addressed the cruelty of public opinion.

“People will always talk; that is the nature of the world. God’s opinion is greater than public opinion,” Kanyari wrote on Facebook.

He also said that his focus is to ensure that his kids do not miss anything they need.

In his message, Kanyari said he has forgiven those who turned his pain into entertainment and thanked those who prayed, supported him and resisted every viral narrative.

His message has landed just days after his former mother-in-law, Joyce Mbugua, the mother of the late Kikuyu gospel singer Betty Bayo, questioned the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.

She demanded an autopsy report and raised concerns over the custody of the children, issues that have further fuelled online debate.

Since then, content creators and commentators have had a field day, dissecting every angle with little regard for timing or tenderness.

“The mother of my children deserves peace. My children deserve respect. And I deserve space to mourn in dignity,” Kanyari has stated.

As the internet continues to talk, Kanyari has chosen fatherhood, faith and forgiveness. Everything else, he has said, is just noise.
