Kamene Goro clarifies sleeping with 27 men

Celebrity icon Kamene Goro has finally addressed one of the most talked-about claims from her past, telling fans that the infamous “27 body count” story was never true.
Speaking during a candid conversation on a local podcast on Saturday, January 3, 2025, Kamene said the number was part of a scripted campaign and not a reflection of her real life.
A campaign script
Kamene explained that she has no regrets about her past, even as she acknowledged there are things she wishes she had done differently. According to her, every experience shaped the discipline and clarity she has today.
“If I had not messed up as I had in the past, I would not be the person that I am right now,” she said.
Addressing the body count claim directly, Kamene cleared the air.
“Even hiyo story ya body count, which was not true, guys. Can we just get that clear? What happened was that it was bait for a campaign of sexual health. So that is the number I was given,” she stated.
She added that the figure was designed to spark conversation around sexual health awareness.
Her clarification comes years after a 2019 interview in which she had said her body count stood at 27, a statement that followed her for years and often resurfaced in public debate.
During the podcast, co-host Alex Mwakideu gently pressed her on what the “real” number might be, prompting a firm and reflective response.
Also in the interview, Kamene narrated about living large shortly after her dad kicked her out of their house. Kamene said she ended up spending Ksh356K on rent as she planned how to settle in Nairobi.
One number matters
Kamene shut down the curiosity with humour and perspective.
“Wewe unadhani ningekua na bwana sai ingekua hivyo? Halafu mtu wa Mombasa?” she asked rhetorically, before stressing that the only number that matters to her now is one, her husband.
She went on to reveal that some of the decisions she made in her youth had serious consequences, including being chased away from home at 3:00am.
“The things I did in my youth taught me a lot,” Kamene said, noting that the painful experiences forced her to grow up fast and re-evaluate her choices.
According to Kamene, those moments ultimately pushed her towards discipline and stability, something she believes would not have happened without facing the consequences head-on.
Her latest remarks have sparked fresh discussion online, with many applauding her honesty and willingness to revisit uncomfortable chapters of her life.
Others say her clarification highlights the dangers of viral soundbites outliving their original context.
For Kamene, however, the message is clear: the past shaped her, but it does not define her present — and certainly not her marriage.
