Mugithi star Jose Gatutura has sought blessings from Nyandarua Governor Kiarie Badilisha ahead of his upcoming music tour in the United States.

Sharing the update on TikTok on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Jose revealed that he had paid a courtesy call to the governor, who wished him well as he prepares to travel for the highly anticipated tour.

“Today I was with my governor, and he wished me luck as I prepare for my USA tour,” Jose wrote.

The singer also assured his fans that all was well as he continues to push forward with his music career.

“Everything is well, Governor, and we are still pushing life and singing,” he stated.

During the meeting, Governor Badilisha expressed pride in the musician’s growing influence, noting that his songs remain trendy and widely loved among Nyandarua residents.

“Nyandarua people are grateful, and your songs are trendy and a favourite for many here. As you go to the USA, greet our people there,” the governor said.

He urged Jose to warmly greet Kenyans living in the diaspora, especially those from Nyandarua County, highlighting that there is an active diaspora team in the US led by Dr Shiuri.

The governor encouraged the singer to perform wholeheartedly, entertain his fans, and represent the county with pride.

“There are many from Nyandarua who live in the United States. There is a diaspora team there led by Dr Shiuri, and I will also let you know where he stays so you can connect with him,” the governor expressed.

Governor Badilisha further prayed for Jose’s safety, success, and a peaceful experience throughout the tour, adding that he hopes the musician will be well supported by fans abroad.

“Greet them all, sing very well for them, and may God bless you. May He grant you a peaceful and enjoyable time as you perform and entertain them. And do not come back empty-handed; let them bless you as well,” the governor added.

The US tour will see Jose team up with Mugithi songstress Kareh B for performances across several states.

The collaboration is expected to bring together fans of Kikuyu music in the diaspora for a series of energetic shows.
