International Vision Centre (IVC) Eldoret has held a special Sunday service in honour of its late founder, Apostle Joseph Likavo, celebrating his life and ministry and recognising his faithful service to God and His people.

The service was held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and was attended by a host of key ministers of the gospel, including renowned preacher Pastor Patricia Sawo, who served as the headlining minister.

In a post on its official Facebook page on the same day, the church described the service as an opportunity to honour and celebrate a life well poured out in faithful service.

The church added that the gathering was intended to encourage followers to carry forward the vision, love, and faith that Apostle Likavo so faithfully poured out during his lifetime.

IVC Eldoret also announced a seven-day prayer and fasting programme in honour of the late bishop, titled “Redigging the Wells of Our Father, Bishop Joseph Likavo”

Untimely demise

Previously, K24 Digital broke the news that Apostle Likavo passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, while undergoing treatment in the United States.

The IVC Ministry, in an official statement on Friday, December 19, 2025, described his passing as a heavy moment for his family, the church fraternity, and the wider body of Christ.

“Further to our brief communication yesterday, the family, IVC church & Ministries wishes to inform the congregation, the body of Christ and the general public that our Spiritual Father, Senior Pastor and presiding Bishop Apostle Joseph Likavo, passed on yesterday, 18/12/2025, while undergoing treatment in the USA,” the statement read in part.

They remembered the preacher as a spiritual father who faithfully served God with distinction, carrying a clear vision, an apostolic mandate, and a shepherd’s heart.

“This is a heavy moment for His family, the IVC fraternity and associated ministries, the body of Christ, and all whose lives were touched by his ministry, leadership, and fatherly grace. Apostle Joseph Likavo faithfully served God with distinction, carrying a clear vision, an apostolic mandate, and a shepherd’s heart,” the statement added.
