Itumbi cheekily criticises Jubilee party’s announcement of new SG
Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination, Dennis Itumbi, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, dragged the Jubilee party over a statement they released announcing the appointment of a new Secretary General.
Through his X account, Itumbi congratulates the party, but immediately twists his congratulatory message into an opportunity to point out the party’s flaws.
He categorically differed with Jubilee’s statement, which had indicated that the new Secretary served as Kajiado North’s member of parliament at some point in his career.

In the post, Itumbi went ahead to question the party’s ability to get things right and asked to be directed to someone who can speak for the party.
“Congratulations, Jubilee Party. But tafadhali, as you introduce your Secretary General, is it impossible to get it right? Ole Kenta has NEVER been Kajiado North MP,” the post read.
Leadership changes
This came after former Interior Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee Party leader, Fred Matiang’i, announced changes to the Jubilee Party’s leadership.
“The NEC has approved this morning the proposal and appointment of Mr Saitoti Torome to be the new chairman of the Jubilee Foundation,” Matiang’i confirmed.
“Mr Torome has been until now the national chairman of Jubilee, and now that position will be taken over by Honourable Vincent Mogaka Kemoso,” he added.

“Honourable Kemoso is a practising lawyer, a young, vibrant voice in the political practice in the country, joining our ranks as national chairman and leader of Jubilee.”
Alongside these changes, Matiang’i also announced the rebirth of the Jubilee Foundation, whose mandate includes raising funds for the party.
“The functions of the Jubilee Foundation, among others, are to raise funds for the party, but most importantly, lead in public policy development and coalition-building for the party.
“We want to be a party of substance, not a party of slogans, quarrels, and insults. We are a party that is focusing on the future, and we want to make meaningful and sensible contributions to our country,” he stated.
