iShowSpeed reacts after Eswatini witch doctor uses shells to read his future
By Steve Ireri, January 5, 2026American streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr, popularly known as iShowSpeed, arrived in Eswatini on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and as leaders of the indigenous country gave him tours of their various cultural practices, they also took him to visit a local traditional healer.
In a video shared on Speed’s YouTube channel on the same day, the healer, a revered witch doctor who was inside a hut, is seen shaking several items that appeared to be cowrie shells mixed with bones after Speed visited his hut.
He then proceeded to read his future using the assortment.
Speed knelt beside the traditional doctor the entire time, and he reacted with visible shock and disbelief at how the healer was vigorously shaking the assortment of items before making his reading.
He was then ordered to give money to the witch doctor, who went ahead to make more prophecies about Speed’s future, including one that he was going to be very successful in the coming days.
“What does it mean when he shakes the assortment like that? Chat, please tell me what it means,” Speed said while reacting in shock and confusion.
“This one means that you have luck, you are lucky, and it means that you have a bright future,” the traditional healer said.
Gifting ancestors
After witnessing how interesting the process of reading someone’s future was, Speed further pestered the witch doctor to reveal to him what he was going to be or what his life was going to look like in the next ten years.
“What am I going to be in the next ten years? Can you tell me?” Speed asked the doctor.
Upon hearing Speed’s request, the healer urged him to first drop some money into a bowl so they could proceed with the reading.
He insisted that the money was not for him personally, but rather a token meant for the ancestors, explaining that they are the ones who help him read someone’s future and reveal what lies ahead.
“Yeah, you can put something inside there first. You can give something to the ancestors. It is an offering,” he said.
That saw Speed asking his team to bring him some money inside the hut, as he had not remembered to carry any with him earlier and because only he alone was allowed to go inside the hut.
The stream went on, and the thousands of fans watching the streamer live kept sharing their reactions, with mixed opinions emerging over the unfolding development.
