IG Model Kabinga slams copy-paste flower arrangement in Kenya ahead of Valentine’s Day

Instagram model Kabinga has sparked debate online after calling out flower vendors in Kenya ahead of Valentine’s Day celebrations.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram stories on Thursday, February 12, 2026, Kabinga criticised what she described as a lack of creativity in most flower arrangements being marketed for the romantic holiday.

The model said many of the bouquets being advertised online look similar and lack originality. According to her, most vendors rely heavily on roses and repeat the same designs year after year instead of exploring other flower options and artistic styles.

“Ok, unpopular, uncalled for opinion, I should probably be minding my business, but no. 1. I think flower arrangements in KE are wrack 2. Roses are not the only flowers. 3. Most Flower arrangements in KE, not all, please note that, are lazy, no original ideas, just copy & paste. There, I said it,” she said.

Kabinga pointed out that roses should not be the only go-to flower for Valentine’s Day. She argued that Kenya has access to a wide variety of beautiful flowers, yet many arrangements appear rushed and uninspired. In her view, some vendors simply copy popular designs rather than coming up with fresh ideas.

She maintained that her comments were not meant to attack anyone personally but to challenge florists to be more creative. Kabinga said she would like to see more artistic and unique bouquets that stand out instead of the common red rose arrangements that dominate the market every February.

“Petition to make it artsy. Nobody should come for me, so this is what I’ve been seeing online being advertised as valentines bouquet, whatever, whatever, I’m not criticising by the way. Or this, not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary, everybody gets this,” Kabinga stated
