‘I still choose you’ – Boniface Mwangi’s wife pens emotional anniversary tribute
Journalist and human rights activist Hellen Njeri Mwangi has penned a heartfelt anniversary message to her husband, activist and photojournalist Boniface Mwangi.
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, Njeri took to her social media accounts to reflect on their journey together and the memories they have built over the years.

In the touching tribute, she recalled the moment their paths first crossed, saying she never imagined that a chance meeting would lead to a lifelong partnership.
“When I saw you at Steers on that sunny afternoon after church, I never for a second imagined ending up with you and doing life together,” Njeri wrote.
Njeri reflected on the many experiences that have shaped their relationship, noting that their journey has been marked by both challenges and joyful moments.
“All these years, we have gotten through so much, blood, sweat and tears and laughter and countless memories that have shaped us,” she added.
According to her, the couple have shared some of the greatest adventures of their lives together, growing, stumbling and celebrating milestones along the way.
“I am glad our paths met. We have been on the greatest adventures of our lives! We have grown, stumbled, and celebrated, and you have always chosen me and I you through it all,” Njeri stated.
In addition, she reaffirmed her love and commitment to her husband, saying that despite everything they have experienced together, she would still choose him.
“Even after it all, I still do!” she wrote.
Njeri further expressed gratitude for their journey and looked forward to the future, wishing her husband another year filled with love and adventure.
