Huddah warns Kenyans against overstaying US visas amid new travel restrictions
By Valerian Khakayi, January 16, 2026Veteran socialite and entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has issued a stern warning to Kenyans planning to travel to the United States amid new travel restrictions.
In a candid post on Friday, January 16, 2026, Huddah urged them to respect visa rules and avoid overstaying.
She further praised Kenyans for their ability to secure visas, noting that the country has never been blocked anywhere. And even if they do, the rules are almost non-existent.
However, she warned that obtaining a visa is just the first step.

“One thing about Kenya is. We never get blocked anywhere. And even if they do. The rules are almost non-existent. Just have the audacity and apply for that visa,” Huddah said.
“And when you do get VISA do not go there and overstay. Come back home every December atleast. That should be the goal. Don’t go rot in peoples country and then become annuisance. Respect is earned, not given.”

Kenya’s brand ambassadors
The entrepreneur emphasised that the respect a country commands internationally comes from its citizens.
She called on all Kenyans travelling abroad to act as brand ambassadors, promoting Kenya as a country of value.
“That’s all. The respect of a country and its flag is carried by the people. All of you going outside the country should be BRAND AMBASSADORS for Kenya Marketing Kenya as a place of value. Starting with me,” she added.

Reflecting on her personal growth, Huddah admitted that she once held negative perceptions but now sees the strength and potential of her homeland
“I used to hate a lot. And KENYA is not a 3rd world country. We are built different That’s why we never get black listed Replace. They try and then they relax . Because we are valuable,” Huddah explained.

With new US travel restrictions coming into effect, Huddah’s message is a timely reminder for Kenyans to respect immigration rules and showcase the best of their country abroad.
