Healing childhood wounds: Machachari’s Malik Lemmy reunites with father after decades apart
By Ascah Mwango, April 24, 2026Machachari actor Malik Lemmy has reunited with his father after decades apart, a moment he says carries deep emotional weight and marks a turning point in his personal journey.
In a post shared via his Instagram stories on Thursday, April 23, 2026, the 26-year-old reflected on how long he had held onto the hope of meeting his father again, describing it as something he had carried since childhood while being raised primarily by his mother.
He explained that the reunion represents more than just a family moment, but also a form of emotional healing tied to his upbringing and identity struggles.
“Its been decades!! All the close ones know how much I prayed for this moment ever since I was a kid My mum has been the greatest gift in my life. I cant wait to experience my father now. I might be 26 now but no one is ever too old for his father If you have a full family set up consider yourself blessed and appreciate the little monents. This is what healing my inner child feels and looks like: The journey begins And its okay!!! My parents parted ways years ago. I wished to have all my parents coming together for parents day, having a complete family set up or being taught how to be a man by my father. My mother took up all those roles,” Lemmy stated.
Lemmy reflected on how his childhood was shaped by being raised in the spotlight, where public expectations often clashed with his personal reality. He noted that while he was known on television from a young age, the absence of his father and the pressures of fame contributed to ongoing identity challenges as he grew older.
“Grew up being called a mamas boy, a nepo baby etc but people never really understood. Ive grown up famous but identity was always a struggle but I kept moving, hoping and praying. God clearly comes through. I am vulnerable on social media because I wanna show you guys im not perfect. I have the best parents. I learnt to understand both of them individually. People would always ask where my father was whenever id post pictures with mum and Malika. It used to pain all of us coz we couldn’t make people understand and it is not our duty to tell people about our family affairs.”

He also addressed the constant comparisons between his life and that of his former Machachari co-stars, saying that such assumptions often ignore the different personal battles each of them has faced while growing up in the public eye.
“People always compare my life with my Machachari cast mates saying how mine is perfect but you guys don’t understand what I have been through. Only few people around me can tell you the truth. Kindly give my ex cast mates grace because everyone heals different. We have all been through so much growing up famous so please stop all those pointless comparisons. Everyone deserves to be loved and not judged. Finally, this is me healing,” Lemmy stated.
