‘Have mercy’ – Mosiria intervenes after landlord renders businessman homeless
By Charles Ouma, March 19, 2026Geoffrey Mosiria has called out rogue landlords who push Kenyans to destitution through punitive actions that infringe on the rights of their tenants.
The head of Customer Service in Nairobi County used the plight of a businessman who was once thriving but was reduced to begging after actions by his landlord.
According to Mosiria, the young man was involved in an accident, which left him vulnerable, with the landlord moving in swiftly and confiscating goods from the three shops that the man operated.

“It is deeply painful to see how this young man’s life has been turned around. After being involved in an accident, his landlord took advantage of his vulnerable condition, confiscated goods from his three shops,” he stated on X on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Threats and seizing property
Mosiria added that the landlord assumed that the businessman was a foreigner and went ahead to threaten him, seizing property and taking over his business empire that included a barber shop and a recording studio.
He lamented that a person who once lived a life of dignity, operating three shops, has now been reduced to begging following the actions of the landlord.
“The landlord even threatened him, allegedly assuming he was not a Kenyan but a foreigner. A man who once lived a stable and dignified life is now struggling and reduced to begging.
The Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service appealed for help, sharing contacts through which anyone willing to assist the man in seeking justice and meeting his daily needs may reach out.

“I appeal to anyone who can offer support, whether financially, through employment opportunities, or by helping him seek justice, to kindly reach out to him via: 0703 199 035. Let us come together to support this young man and stand against such injustices,” he said.
Challenging life
Mosiria visited the man who opened up on his plight, saying that he survives on goodwill from people, with his wife and children visiting relatives and friends to eat.
While narrating his experience, the man broke down in tears as he appreciated his loyal wife, who has been with him amid the challenges.
“Tunaishi njaa, tunangang’ana hata nyumba hatujalipa,” the man who is a skilled producer, songwriter and salonist explained.
