Gospel singer Travis Greene shares how his son’s premature birth inspired ‘Made A Way’

Greene revealed that pain, faith, and survival began birthing the song during a difficult season in his family’s life.
He shared that his son was born prematurely at 28 weeks and weighed just 2 pounds, requiring intensive care in an incubator for two months. At the same time, his wife was also hospitalised for two months and endured severe complications, making it one of the most challenging and uncertain periods in the family.
“My son was born at 28 weeks, 2 pounds, he was in the incubator for two months, my wife was in the hospital for two months, her legs were withering away,” Greene revealed.
The gospel minister added that he wrote the song not from a place of victory, but from fear, uncertainty, and silence.
He explained that the song was not written as a hopeful prayer for the future but as a declaration of faith.
“This is where I wrote the song, ‘You made a way’. I did not write a song that says, You will make a way,” he added.
“I wrote it in past tense because anything God’s about to do, He’s already done.”
