Gospel singer Janet Otieno issues update after husband is involved in grisly road accident

Gospel singer Janet Otieno has appealed for prayers after her husband, Alfred Otieno, was involved in a road accident a few days ago and is currently scheduled to undergo surgery.
In a message shared through her Facebook page on Thursday, May 7, 2026, the award-winning worship artiste asked supporters to stand with her family in prayer as they prepare for the medical procedure scheduled for the evening.
She noted that they are holding on to faith for a successful operation, healing, and strength through the difficult moment.
“Please keep my husband, Mr Otieno, in your prayers. He was involved in a road accident a few days ago and is scheduled for surgery this evening. We’re trusting God for a successful operation, healing and strength through it all,” Janet stated.
Janet Otieno is one of Kenya’s most recognised gospel voices, known for her soulful worship style and songs that have earned her both local and regional recognition since she rose to prominence in the early 2010s.
