Geoffrey Mosiria reunites former streetboy with family after rescuing him 3 times
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has reunited a former street boy whom he rescued from the streets on three different occasions with his family.
Mosiria detailed that despite taking the minor to a children’s home and later enrolling him in a boarding school, he kept running away back to the streets.

“Do you remember Mike? Mike is the street boy I found early last year on the streets of Nairobi. I rescued him and took him to a children’s home, and later enrolled him in a boarding school. However, after just one term, he ran away,” he said in a statement on Facebook on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Several rescue attempts
He did not give up in his quest to rescue the young boy and kept on rescuing him yet again, this time in the streets of Thika.
“I later traced him in the streets of Thika, rescued him again, and took him back to school. Unfortunately, he ran away again and this cycle repeated itself two more times last year. Despite all these challenges, I never gave up on him. I kept tracing him and rescuing him each time.
The minor would yet again sneak back to the streets with Mosiria catching up with hm in Nairobi and spelling out the two options available as a last resort upon consultation with his family.
“Recently, I found him again in the Nairobi CBD. Today, I took him back to his grandparents’ home and had a serious conversation with him about his future. I gave him two options: either to return to an approved school or to stay at home with his grandparents and continue schooling from there, with a clear condition that he should never be seen living on the streets of Nairobi again.
Mosiria on losing Ksh150K
The minor agreed to stay with his grandparents, with Mosiria issuing a public appeal that anyone who sees him in the streets should immediately reach out.

“He agreed to stay with his grandparents, and I truly hope this marks a turning point in his life. I shall be following up to ensure he does not go back to the streets again, and anyone who will see him in the streets kindly reach out to me,” he added.
The Chief Officer had earlier shared his frustrations after suffering losses while attempting to rescue the minor from the streets and supporting the latter’s education.
He explained that he has repeatedly rescued the young man named Mike from the streets of Nairobi, but he keeps on sneaking back, with resources channelled to support him going to waste each time, with the amount standing at Ksh 150,000.
