Netflix has expanded the cast of Wednesday season 3, bringing in fresh faces as anticipation builds for the next instalment of the hit supernatural series.

Among the latest additions is Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, best known for her role as Cersei Lannister, joining a growing lineup that signals an even bigger and more ambitious season ahead.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, April 9, 2026, the streaming platform also confirmed that Andrew McCarthy, widely recognised for his role in Pretty in Pink, and James Lance, known for his performance in Ted Lasso, have joined the cast.

Their addition introduces a mix of veteran screen presence and contemporary appeal, strengthening the show’s expanding universe.

Wednesday, which premiered in 2022, quickly became one of Netflix’s biggest successes. The series stars Jenna Ortega in the titular role and follows Wednesday Addams as she navigates life at Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts, while dealing with mysteries, friendships, and supernatural threats.

Ortega’s performance has earned her major award nominations, helping cement the show’s cultural impact.

Season 3 is already shaping up to be a major expansion of the story. Earlier announcements revealed that Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), and Kennedy Moyer (Task) would also be joining the cast.

The additions bring together talent from across generations and genres, pointing to a richer and more layered narrative.

The new season also features actors connected to the Game of Thrones universe, including Noah Taylor, who played Locke in the HBO series, and Oscar Morgan, known for portraying Valarr Targaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Their presence alongside Headey adds a subtle crossover appeal that has excited fans online.

Production for Wednesday season 3 is currently underway, though Netflix has yet to confirm an official release date. With such a diverse and high-profile ensemble coming together, expectations are rising for a season that pushes the boundaries of the series.

As the cast continues to grow, Wednesday is positioning itself as one of Netflix’s biggest returning titles.
