Gabzy expresses heartbreak after fan dies during his concert with Asake
By William Muthama, December 23, 2025UK-based Nigerian musician Gabzy expressed deep heartbreak following the death of a fan, Karen Lojore, during his concert with Nigerian star Asake at Nyayo Stadium on Friday, December 20, 2025.
The performance, which drew large crowds eager to see the two artists, turned tragic outside the venue, leaving organisers, fans, and performers devastated.
In a post on his Instagram page on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, Gabzy offered condolences and prayers to Karen Lojore’s family, friends, and all affected by the incident.
He described the tragedy as heartbreaking, noting that the event was meant to bring joy and celebration through music.

“I’m heartbroken over the incident that took place outside of the festival in Kenya on December 20th. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to Karen Lojore’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this,” Gabzy said.
Asake message
Earlier, Asake also issued a statement expressing grief. He extended sympathies to the family of Karen Lojore and pledged to support efforts to understand what happened.
He stressed that those responsible should be held accountable and expressed disappointment that music, his way of sharing love and joy, became associated with such a tragic loss.

“My heart goes out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Karen Lojore, and I pledge to support and do my best to understand what happened. Those responsible should be held accountable,” Asake said.
Event Organisers
Tukutane Entertainment, the organisers of the concert, released a statement on Monday night confirming full cooperation with emergency services and relevant authorities.
They assured the public that the safety of concertgoers is a top priority and that the circumstances surrounding the incident will be handled transparently.
Out of respect for the family and ongoing investigation, they avoided speculation but promised updates as appropriate.
“We are committed to approaching this situation with care, transparency, and accountability, and will share additional information as appropriate and in coordination with the relevant authorities,” the event organiser noted.
The Gabzy and Asake concert, intended as a celebration of music, was already marred by controversy before it even began, when Kenyan music group Kodong Klan withdrew from the event.
The group cited claims of mistreatment as reasons for their pullout, adding tension to an event that later became overshadowed by tragedy.
