Prominent Kenyan Ohangla musician Freddy Nyandiko, popularly known as Freddy Jakadongo, has officially announced his return to the music scene, confirming a comeback after previously stepping away from the industry.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Monday, May 18, 2026, the singer said he had taken time away from music to reflect but was deeply moved by the overwhelming support and messages from fans urging him to return.

“I wish to formally address my fans, supporters, and the general public following an overwhelming outpouring of messages I received over the past days. After taking time to reflect, I have carefully reconsidered the heartfelt pleas from fans urging me to continue making music,” Jakadongo said, noting that the messages of encouragement played a major role in his decision.

“I have been deeply moved by the countless messages of goodwill, concern, and encouragement from individuals across the region and beyond. These messages have not gone unnoticed; they have been received, appreciated, and taken to heart.”

He confirmed that he will now be returning to music bigger, stronger, and more inspired than ever before, marking what he described as a new chapter in his career together with The Blessed Band.

“In light of this immense support, I am pleased to announce that I will be returning to the music scene bigger, stronger, and more inspired than ever before,” he confirmed.

Comeback performance

According to the Ohangla singer, his comeback performance has been scheduled for Friday, 5th June 2026, and is expected to officially mark his return to the stage.

“The comeback performance is officially scheduled for Friday, 5th June 2026, marking a new chapter for me and The Blessed Bond. Fans are encouraged to come out in large numbers to show their continued support and be part of this exciting new beginning. As always, the spirit of “Aluta Continua” lives on,” Jakadongo added.

Music exit

His return comes weeks after he officially announced his decision to step away from the music industry, marking the end of a significant chapter in his artistic journey.

In a heartfelt statement shared on his official social media account on Monday, April 6, 2026, Jakadongo revealed that the decision came after deep personal reflection.

He described his time in music as nothing short of incredible, expressing profound gratitude to fans and supporters who stood by him and the band through every high and low.

“After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step away from music,” Jakadongo announced.

“This journey has been nothing short of incredible, and I’m deeply grateful to every single one of you who stood with me, believed in the sound, and supported the band through all the highs and lows over the years.”

Addressing his fans directly, Jakadongo acknowledged the vital role they have played in his career.
