Eric Omondi appreciates love from truck drivers on day 3 of love walk to Mombasa

Comedian Eric Omondi has revealed how truck drivers have been keeping him motivated in his walk from Nairobi to Mombasa.

In an update shared by the philanthropist on Thursday, February 12, 2026, across his social media platforms, Omondi shared that truck drivers have been showing him lots of love and support on the road.

“Kama kuna watu wananipea nguvu na motisha kwa hii safari ni track drivers,” Omondi stated.

This loosely translates to: Truck drivers have been a source of strength and motivation for me in this journey.”

He added that apart from cheering him on and hooting to encourage him as he soldiers on towards his final destination.

“They have offered a lot of psychological support. Wanani hutia kila saa waki shout UTAFIKAA!!!,” Omondi said, adding that some have even been sharing food with him in solidarity with his initiative.

Kuna mmoja Jana alinipea maembe na soo mmoja akaniambia nunua maji. Jana tulimalizia Masimba; wacha sasa tuelekee Makindu halafu Mtito Andei. (One shared a mango with me, while another gave me Ksh100 to buy water. Yesterday we paused at Masimba, and our focus today is Makindu, then Mtito Andei,” Omondi stated.

The philanthropist is eyeing Mtito Andei on his third day of the journey that will see him cover 486 kilometres on foot.

He wrapped the second day at Masimba after defying injuries sustained on the first day when he covered 67 kilometres, closing the day in Machakos.

Inside Eric Omondi’s walk of love

The activist embarked on the journey, named Walk of Love, to raise funds to establish a help and rescue centre to aid Kenyans in need.

He kicked off the walk at Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after prayers from gospel singer Daddy Owen.

He will spend four days on the road, ending the walk at Mama Ngina Waterfront Park on Valentine’s Day.

A number of celebrities have shown their support for the noble initiative, joining him on the road and covering some distance with him.

Jeff Koinange, Churchill, Amber Ray, MC Tricky, Khaligraph Jones, Carol Radul, and Daddy Owen are among those who joined him on the first day, declaring support for his noble initiative, giving it enhanced publicity, and increasing the buzz generated by the daring initiative.
