Eric Omondi addresses Meru County Assembly, announces charity walk across 5 counties

Comedian Eric Omondi has addressed the Meru County Assembly and announced another charity walk in the coming days.

The philanthropist, who also paid a courtesy call to Governor Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia, addressed the county assembly on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

He shared the news on his social media platforms on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in a statement that not only covered the purpose of the visit, but also an upcoming initiative.

“Today I paid a courtesy call to the Governor of Meru County, and also got the honour to address the entire Meru County Assembly (MCAs),” Omondi stated.

Omondi announced another charity walk that will start in Nairobi County, taking him through Nyeri, Embu, Nanyuki (Laikipia) and terminating in Meru.

Date of the charity walk and aim

He revealed that the charity walk will kick off on Monday, March 16, 2026, to raise funds for the construction of a help and rescue centre.

“On Monday, we begin the final Sisi Kwa Sisi walk to Meru through Nyeri, Embu, Nanyuki and finalise at Meru. We will deliver the Sisi Kwa Help and Rescue Centre that will Provide Free Education and free Healthcare,” he added.

The philanthropist has been traversing the country in a series of charity walks to raise funds for the project that will be the cornerstone of his legacy.

The initiative has been backed by several corporates, well-wishers and loyal supporters of his charity, dubbed Team Sisi Kwa Sisi.

Upon completion, the facility will have a warehouse, two ambulances, a clinic and a free secondary school.

Progress of the help and rescue centre

Construction of the rescue centre kicked off on Sunday, February 15, 2026, following his successful walk from Nairobi to Mombasa, which saw him cover 486 kilometres.

He embarked on another walk from Nairobi to Busia, covering a distance of 366 kilometres over a period of five days.

For his birthday, Omondi revealed that his only wish was to be supported to complete a project that is in progress.

“Hey guys, IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY. I know people have been asking me, ‘Erico Wewe Utaka Nini?’ My birthday wish is to COMPLETE this warehouse today ndio tuanze Kujenga Shule na Hosi immediately,” he said on March 9, 2026.
