Dorea Chege shares emotional birth story after 18 hours of labour, emergency surgery

She said on Friday, March 27, 2026, that the experience was painful but meaningful because it led to the birth of her child.
She explained that the journey tested her physically and emotionally, but she remained focused on bringing her baby safely into the world. She added that despite the difficulties, she would not change anything about the experience.
“18 hours of labour. Emergency surgery. And I’d do it all again without hesitation. Because that’s how much I wanted you, my wanjiku,” Dorea Chege said.
She went on to reflect on the emotional strength she gathered during the process. She said every moment of pain, prayer, and struggle was worth it because of her deep love for her child. She added that motherhood gave her a new sense of purpose.
“From the very first heartbeat, you were worth every pain, every prayer, every fight,” Dorea Chege said.
She also expressed deep affection for her daughter, describing her as a miracle and a blessing. She said the bond she shares with her child continues to grow stronger each day. She added that her child remains the reason she stays strong.
