Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz has kicked off his highly anticipated retro tour in Mwanza by gifting Tsh2 million [approximately Ksh100,000] to a fan who had tattooed portraits of all his family members on his body.

In a video shared on Wasafi FM’s Instagram page on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Diamond is seen arriving in Mwanza with his team on the first day of the tour and delivering emotional remarks while engaging in a meet-and-greet session with fans.

It is during this interaction that he came across Aloys, a shirtless fan with a large portrait of the ‘Komosava’ hitmaker inked on his body, alongside multiple tattoos of the singer’s family members covering his upper body.

Diamond expressed excitement at the gesture and said he was always inspired by such fans to keep making better music and to continue inspiring newer generations of artistes.

Unforgettable day

Speaking about meeting Diamond and receiving the cash gift, Aloys said he was doing well and expressed immense joy over the encounter.

He described the money as a meaningful and heartfelt gift, adding that even if he had not received it, meeting and spending time with the singer was already fulfilling.

“I am doing well and I feel so happy. To be honest, that is a good and heartfelt gift for me. Even if he had not given me the money, meeting and hanging out with him would still have meant a lot to me because I did what I did out of passion and not for clout or reward,” he said.

He explained that he got the tattoos out of passion and not as a way of seeking attention or a reward from the artiste.

He added that he chose to honour Diamond while he was still alive, noting that people should celebrate others in their lifetime rather than after they are gone.

“I tattooed them to honour Diamond while he is alive, because that is how it should be, you celebrate people when they are still alive, not when they are gone,” he added.

Aloys further said he believed he had shown genuine love, adding that he had not seen another musician reach the level Diamond was at.

He went on to explain that the tattoos included images of Mama Dangote, Bi Sandra, his daughter Tiffah, his partner Zuchu, his son Naseeb, Prince Nillan, as well as the WCB label, which he had tattooed on his neck.

“I believe I have shown real love. I have not seen a musician reach the level Diamond has reached. The tattoos include Mama Dangote, his sister Esma, his daughter Tiffah, Zuchu, his son Naseeb, Prince Nillan, and even WCB on my neck,” he shared.
