Dancer Charlotte Jørgensen breaks silence after surviving deadly plane crash

Dancer Charlotte Jørgensen has spoken for the first time after surviving a deadly Air Canada plane crash that claimed the lives of two pilots and left dozens injured.

Jørgensen, a professional dancer known for her appearance on Dancing With the Stars, was among the passengers on board the CRJ-900 aircraft that collided with a fire truck at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on March 22, 2026.

The crash resulted in the deaths of the captain and first officer, while several passengers and emergency responders sustained injuries.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on Monday, March 30, 2026, Jørgensen revealed she had boarded the flight after a “fabulous weekend in Montreal,” unaware of the tragic events that would unfold.

She credited the pilots with saving lives, describing them as “two brave souls” who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“They made the ultimate sacrifice so that we all could live,” she wrote, extending her condolences to their families.

The aftermath

Jørgensen explained that in the immediate aftermath of the crash, she felt little due to adrenaline. However, the days that followed have been far more challenging.

“The days after have been tough physically, mentally and emotionally,” she shared, highlighting the lasting impact of the traumatic experience.

She is currently recovering at home, surrounded by loved ones, and taking time to heal from the ordeal.

At the time of the crash, there were 76 people on board, including passengers and crew. Many were taken to the hospital following the incident, although the majority have since been treated and released. Authorities are continuing investigations into what led to the collision on the runway.

Aviation experts have noted that the outcome could have been far worse given the speed and force of the impact. The pilots’ final actions are believed to have prevented a higher number of fatalities.

Despite the trauma, Jørgensen expressed gratitude for the support she has received from fans, friends, and the wider dance community. She said the outpouring of love has helped her begin the healing process.
