Daddy Owen pens emotional tribute following death of former Miss Kenya Lilian Musau
By Steve Ireri, February 1, 2026Gospel singer Daddy Owen has penned an emotional tribute following the death of his close friend and former Miss Tourism Kenya, Lilian Musau.
In a heartfelt message shared on his Facebook on Saturday, January 31, 2026, the ‘Mwokozi’ hitmaker announced that Lilian passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at around 7:00 pm Kenyan time.
He described her as a dear friend and a college schoolmate, noting that her death had left him and many others deeply saddened.
“IN LOVING MEMORY OF LILIAN MUSAU. It is with deep sorrow that I share the passing of my dear friend and college schoolmate, Lilian Musau, a former Miss Tourism Kenya, who went to be with the Lord on 27th January 2026, 7:00 PM (Kenya Time),” he wrote.
Daddy Owen revealed that Lilian had been battling illness and had spent about a month in hospital before she peacefully went to be with the Lord.
He stated that she fought bravely throughout her illness, but ultimately succumbed while under medical care.
“After bravely battling illness during a one-month hospital stay, Lilian rested peacefully in God’s presence,” he shared.

As the family and friends come to terms with the loss, Daddy Owen disclosed that clearing Lilian’s hospital bill remains an urgent priority, with a deadline set for Monday, February 2, 2026.
He appealed to well-wishers for prayers, support, and financial assistance during the difficult period.
“At this time, clearing the hospital bill remains our top priority, with a deadline of Monday, 2nd February 2026,” the singer further wrote.
The gospel singer also shared details of the planned memorial and burial arrangements.
According to the update, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the AGC Church in Karen, starting from 2:00 pm.
Lilian will then be laid to rest the following day, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Machakos County.
