Crowds join Eric Omondi as he kicks off walk of love from Nairobi to Busia

Comedian Eric Omondi has embarked on another daring walk that will see him cover hundreds of kilometres from Nairobi to Busia.
The comedian was joined by a huge crowd and a host of celebrities as he hit the road on the morning of Monday, March 2, 2026.
He was joined by Kenyan sprint legend Ferdinand Omanyala and a sizeable crowd that accompanied him for a section of the 366 kilometres.
Acclaimed Mugithi maestro Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, also joined the procession as it made its way across the city.
The veteran stand-up comedian and philanthropist announced the five-day charity walk following the success of a similar initiative that saw him walk from Nairobi to Mombasa, covering a distance of 486 kilometres.
Dubbed the walk of love, the initiative was in a bid to raise funds for his Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre.
Omondi’s bold vision
Taking to his official social media accounts on Monday, February 23, 2026, Omondi said that the walk would be from Nairobi to the Busia border.
“Hey guys, I will be walking to the Busia border from Nairobi for 5 days from next week, Monday the 2nd to Friday. Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre will provide free health care and education to Kenyans,” Omondi announced.
“I walked to Mombasa and raised funds to begin this project. I will keep walking until the SISI KWA SISI help and rescue centre is complete.” He stated.
Omondi mobilises followers
While livestreaming the event, Omondi asserted that the noble initiative of building a health and rescue centre will be accomplished.
Construction of the facility has since started, with more funds needed to bring the bold vision to life.
The help and rescue centre will feature a safe house, two ambulances, a hospital and a free secondary school.
Ahead of the walk, the philanthropist mobilised his supporters and well-wishers.
“Hey guys… Tomorrow we begin the long 366-kilometre walk to the Kenyan border in Busia. Remember, you can buy a kilometre for 20K to help reduce my miles, or you can send whatever you can to the Paybill below,” he said.
