Corazon Kwamboka reveals real cause of her knee pain after physio visit
By Ascah Mwango, March 11, 2026Kenyan fitness enthusiast and influencer Corazon Kwamboka has opened up about the unexpected culprit behind the knee pain that has been troubling her lately.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, she shared the surprising lesson she learned from her physiotherapist.
For weeks, Corazon believed her knee was the main source of the discomfort. But it turns out, the problem was not at the knee at all. The real issue was her undertrained hip abductors, the muscles around the hips that play a key role in stabilising the legs and pelvis. Because these muscles were weak, her body started compensating, placing extra load on her knees. This led to irritation in her IT band and a whole lot of frustration.
She shared that the revelation has led her to adjust her training, focusing more on hip-strengthening exercises to ensure her body moves as it should.

Corazon admitted that she avoided training her abductors and glutes for fear they might get too big. As it turns out, skipping them had consequences she had not anticipated.
“I learned something interesting from my physiotherapist today I thought my knee was the main problem. but it turns out it wasn’t. The real issue was weak hip abductors (muscles around the hips) Because they were undertrained, my body started compensating and my knees took on more load than they should. That’s what eventually irritated my IT band. So the lesson: Sometimes the pain shows up in one place, but the real problem is somewhere else,” Kwamboka shared.
Adding;
“Now we’re focusing on strengthening the hips so everything moves the way it should. In short. all muscles matter. Even the ones you avoid training because you’re scared they’ll get bigger. Personally, I hate training my abductors and glutes (they usually go hand in hand) because I already feel like mine are big enough. So guess what I did? Undertrained them. And see where that got me now.”

On March 4, 2026, Kwamboka shared that she had gotten an injury that resulted in her adjusting her workout routine.
She expressed frustration over the situation but emphasised the importance of long-term health. She stated that she is moving away from training motivated by appearance or ego and is now focusing on exercises that promote overall longevity and wellness.
“Finally decided to see a doctor for my knee, I’m so pissed about all this, moving forward, I’m done training for ego but only for longevity,” Corazon shared.
