Zanzibar First Lady visits Zuchu and Diamond after birth of their baby

Zanzibar First Lady Mariam Mwinyi visited Tanzanian music stars Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz at Saifee Hospital in Dar es Salaam following the birth of their baby girl.

Mariam Mwinyi paid the visit on Monday, August 3, 2026, a day after Zuchu and Diamond welcomed their baby girl on Sunday, August 2, 2026, where she congratulated the couple on the arrival of their daughter.

Flowers, warm embrace and congratulations

During the visit, the First Lady presented flowers to the new parents before warmly embracing Zuchu and spending time chatting with Diamond as she congratulated the family on the arrival of their newborn.

“Nawapongeza kwa kujifungua salama na ninawatakia kheri wewe pamoja na mtoto wenu afya njema, maisha marefu yenye baraka na mafanikio,” Mariam Mwinyi said.

She wished both mother and child good health, a long life filled with blessings and prosperity.

Zuchu and Diamond thanked Mariam Mwinyi for taking time out of her schedule to visit them, saying her gesture brought comfort and encouragement to their family during the special moment.

Well-Wishers visit the couple

The visit is the latest in a series of congratulatory visits the couple have received since welcoming their first child together.

Family members, close friends, fellow musicians and other well-wishers have been streaming to the hospital to celebrate the birth of the baby girl.

Among the notable visitors was singer Rayvanny, who arrived at the hospital with eight flower bouquets and a cash gift. Joking about Diamond’s earlier request for visitors to bring money instead of flowers, Rayvanny said he had decided to bring both.

“Are you in here? Haha, I saw Diamond saying you do not want flower gifts. Haha. I have brought flowers but also money,” Rayvanny said.

He explained that the eight bouquets symbolised the baby’s birth in the eighth month of the year before congratulating the couple and expressing his joy at the newborn’s arrival.

Diamond and Zuchu celebrate parenthood

Diamond and Zuchu announced the birth of their daughter on Sunday, August 2, sharing emotional messages with fans on social media. Diamond welcomed his daughter to the world, while Zuchu described the newborn as her “whole world.”

The birth marks a significant milestone in the couple’s relationship, which has attracted widespread public attention across East Africa.

After marrying in an Islamic Nikah ceremony in 2025 and later experiencing a brief separation, the two reconciled and publicly shared their journey to parenthood, culminating in a lavish baby shower before welcoming their daughter.
