Willis Raburu assures Kenyans of brighter future after Sifuna’s presidency endorsement

Media personality Willis Raburu has assured Kenyans of a brighter future after meeting Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna days after the latter was endorsed as Linda Mwananchi’s presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
Raburu shared details of his meeting with Sifuna on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, hinting at discussions around the country’s future as the senator steps up his presidential bid.
“H.E. amesema nisiwachilie na msiogope, pole pole Tu! Mbele iko sawa! Ati tunafanana Kiasi?” Raburu said.
The former TV presenter also revealed that he had met Sifuna for breakfast, saying the two discussed a wide range of issues.
“Broke bread this morning with @edwinsifuna; we shared on a myriad of issues,” he added.
He went on to reassure Kenyans about the future, maintaining that the country’s prospects remained positive.
“Folks, the future is bright, and we continue to keep our eyes on the stars and our feet on the ground,” he stated.
Sifuna endorsed for presidency
Raburu’s remarks come three days after Linda Mwananchi formally endorsed Sifuna as its presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
The movement made the decision during a leadership retreat held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, where its leaders resolved to move forward with Sifuna as their leader and presidential candidate.
“H.E Edwin Watenya Sifuna is our leader and presidential candidate,” Linda Mwananchi said in a statement.
The movement further announced that Sifuna would lead the unveiling of the political party through which he will seek the presidency in early October.
“In early October, H.E. Edwin Watenya Sifuna will lead the unveiling of the party on whose ticket he will run,” the movement said.
Linda Mwananchi also said it would seek to work with other political parties that share its stated commitment to Kenyans.
“We will seek to build a coalition with like-minded parties that share our commitment to the people of Kenya,” the movement said.
Raburu’s meeting with Sifuna
Raburu did not disclose the specific issues discussed during his breakfast meeting with Sifuna but described their conversation as covering a “myriad of issues”.
His comments come as Sifuna’s political plans enter a new phase following the endorsement, with attention now shifting to the party he will use in the 2027 presidential contest.
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya previously said Sifuna would use the United Democratic Party (UDP), although a senior UDP official subsequently disputed claims that Sifuna and Natembeya had already taken over the party’s leadership.
For now, Linda Mwananchi has formally settled on Sifuna as its presidential candidate, while the promised party unveiling in early October is expected to provide further clarity on his political vehicle.
Raburu’s message, meanwhile, appeared to focus on optimism, urging Kenyans not to fear as he maintained that “the future is bright”.
