Digital content creator and streamer Vindee has announced plans to launch his own streaming academy, days after missing out on the final list for Kai Cenat’s Streamer University 2026.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, July 11, 2026, the streamer said he was moving forward with the idea of establishing an East Africa Streamers University, arguing that creators from the region deserve opportunities to grow and showcase their talent.

Announces new streaming initiative

Speaking directly to Kai Cenat in the video, Vindee said the experience of missing the programme had motivated him to build a platform focused on East African creators.

He maintained that the project was already taking shape, revealing that the logo had been completed and auditions would begin soon. “Remember me, Kai? I’m the streamer from East Africa. I’m the one you chose, but at the same time rejected in Streamer University 2026. I’m not joking when I tell you that I’m starting my own East Africa Streamers University,” he stated.

Vindee went on to say that he had rallied fellow creators behind the initiative.”The East Africa Streamers University logo is ready, and I’m starting my own auditions soon. East African streamers and I, have united and agreed that you should not step into East Africa,” he emphasised.

Came after Streamer University disappointment

The announcement comes only days after Vindee explained why his name was missing from the final Streamer University list released by Kai Cenat during a livestream on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

More than 100 creators were selected for the second edition of the programme, but Vindee was not among them despite previously sharing what appeared to be an email showing that his application had progressed.

His absence from the final list left many of his followers confused, particularly after he had celebrated what he believed was an acceptance message.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026 Vindee later clarified the situation through Instagram Stories, saying he had failed to notice a confirmation email that required further action. “I missed the email. I was busy organising Ashton Hall’s Kenya schedule and completely missed the Streamer University website confirmation email,” he stated.

Questions East African representation

Before announcing his own academy, Vindee had already expressed frustration over the lack of East African representation in the programme.

During a livestream on Friday, July 10, 2026 he questioned why no creators from the region had been included, saying platforms that seek to support online talent should also recognise emerging creators from East Africa.

He argued that visits to the region would carry little meaning if local streamers continued to miss out on opportunities designed to nurture digital creators. “If you cannot have any East African streamer at your Streamer University, then I do not see a reason for you to visit East Africa,” he said.

Vindee has not shared a launch date for the proposed East Africa Streamers University, but his latest announcement signals his intention to create a platform aimed at supporting and developing the region’s growing community of online content creators.
