‘Tusaidie maskini’: Pastor Kanyari directs Kenya’s millionaires to start attending his church
By Steve Ireri, July 26, 2026Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari has called on wealthy Kenyans and millionaires to start attending his church, urging them to use their resources to support needy people instead of giving money directly to him.
Speaking during his Sunday, July 26, 2026, service, Kanyari said his church had launched a programme aimed at helping people in need and asked wealthy Kenyans to join the initiative by contributing towards the welfare of the less fortunate.
The preacher said he wanted wealthy Kenyans to come to his church because, in his view, it was the right place for them to use their wealth to make a difference in the lives of needy people.
“And now I am sending my message to all the wealthy Kenyans who are out there. Now we have started a programme for helping the needy. So you all start coming to this church because this is where you belong and where you belong,” Kanyari said.
He encouraged the wealthy to come forward and contribute their money towards helping the poor, while making it clear that the donations should not be directed to him personally.
“You come and give out your money. And do not come and give it to me. Donate it for the poor,” he said.
Kanyari went on to insist that he did not need financial assistance from the wealthy Kenyans he was addressing, saying that he was already grateful for what God had done for him.
“Do not give it to me because God has helped me as well. I do not want even a coin. Please come so we can help the poor,” the pastor said.
His appeal appeared to be centred on encouraging wealthy members of society to redirect their generosity towards people struggling with basic needs.
Kanyari further explained that the people who attend his church and require assistance are primarily in need of food, rather than expensive clothing or other material possessions.
He said some of the needy people already had clothes that could continue serving them, but their immediate challenge was having enough food.
“And also, the people who are in my church do not need a lot of help. They need food for the stomach. They do not even need clothes because the ones they have will serve them,” he said.
